It was decided that a quick follow-up 2nd SOLID SPACE album was to be made in the early summer of 1995. As the band had also been in the midst of recording its DEBUT album, (Transkai), things were going well creatively and many writing and jam sessions were happening during this time. So...we made the decision to record a second album, FIREFLOWER. In the studios we were working in around New York City at the time, things were moving very quickly creatively and many spontaneous compositions were happening at the time. One particular session that occurred happened in SOHO in the summer of 1995 as the Drummer, Daniel went into the studio alone one afternoon for a VERY intense very long session of tracking drums in downtown Manhattan, (SOHO), and totally unknown to him during that session on that day, a VERY INTENSE electrical storm occurred and swept over the entire city. However, Daniel was concentrating so intensely, he never heard a thing. It was as if it never happened in his mind because he was on a different creative plain. When his band mate Jay Tausig showed up and walked into the studio totally soaked with eyes wide open, he stated that he thought the world was coming to an end because of the wicked lightning and vicious rain that he had walked in from practically scared him to death. Thus the title track of this album, Psychic Lightning Revisited was born.

FIREFLOWER is an album that showcases SOLID SPACE's & Daniel Todd Carter's very early rough and raw emotionally charged sound. Blazing and grinding analog synthesizers sonically fighting with each other created a sound that was and is a new beginning for Daniel. A blooming and a kind of opening was created through the sonic character of this album that allowed Daniel to come out of his Drumming & Synthesis shell so to speak. These raw and powerful synthetic sounds combined with some furious and very exploratory type Drumming combined with blazing Guitar and Bass playing makes for an album that bears many repeated listening's. There is always something new to be heard through the albums sonic palette. Although instrumental in nature and again, very rough around the edges, nonetheless, this is an album that will please any listener who appreciates psychedelic, progressive space rock and likes to sonically travel within the mental movies of the mind. A true headphone album of more high grade ear fuel.
